Time of Reflection
These last few months have given me plenty to think about. Not sure about you other artists out there, but when I am creating alone in my studio, I often find myself reminiscing on the past; good times with friends, family and the people and connections I have made along the way. Even more so during this time we are all going through. Looking back, I am certain of one thing, I have had a very blessed life. I look forward to new adventures and creating more memories along the way.
During this time of reflection, this triptych took shape, so I found it fitting to name it “Fragments Remembered”. These 3 pieces capture unexpected relationships between forms and colors. Connections were originally created, then broken up and reassembled in a new composition. This triptych process is reminiscent of my own memories; fractured moments of past times play back in my mind, not necessarily in the right order or exactly as it may have happened, but it is my memory of them. Focusing on the best parts (the good times) and the connections made.
